The video below shows whenever the master relax totally and not resisting the enemy, the enemy cannot pull him. But if he resist the enemy can pull him.

I notice in my life, whenever i got into big trouble is when i do too much. In a lot of the situation i can win if only i dont do anything, actually if i dont do so many things, i could be a millinaire now. :P

In Wei Qi also, if wu wei a bit, let the enemy take whatever he wants, taking the territory for example forcing me to take influence, normally i can win. I dont win because i want to force the situation.

In chess master 9000 , Josh Waitzkin commented a game where a beginner usually try to force things on the situation, whereas the master just makes natural moves.

I think practicing tai chi can really put in this principal into deep body understanding. Because tai chi need a lot of relaxation in the body, and the brain need to be very aware of the body to relax the muscle forming a control loop, refer also Feldenkrais exercise, constant practicing increases the wiring due to the plasticity of the brain, thus after a while there is a large wired network is there in the brain and could be used for other areas of activity.

And lo! I found this very good and obscure book on wui wei and depression, excellent connection between the two:

uploaded the book to freedrive.com and facebook

Wu wei is ying. Karate is yang. I am going into the ying state again in my life, after many years of intense yang state.

Edit: found the book at 930pm today July 17 2009. A great book that link together majority of my discovery like accept suffering and non doing.

edit 2: Read the wu wei book again, its explainations use for accepting suffering is not that good i think, it is from a philosophical viewpoint. My viewpoint is from a brain mechanics viewpoint, accept suffering short cicuits the outdated anxiety and depression defense mechanism which cause harm to the brain efficiency.
