Knowledge Crystals

Knowledge Crystals 29 April 2009

The four practice and philosophy I want my sons to know.
The four practice:

Karate builds your character and confidence. With karate you can confront any problem.

I have played chess, go, philosophy, enlightenment,
psychology, poetry, karate, bridge, computational fluid dynamics, quantum theory, xbox, hacking, game programming, women, all of them are roughly the same if you look deep enough. Oracle is the best toy because it is quite inexhaustable, only need a laptop, and you can make lots of money playing it.

Poker no limit holdem contains the essence of all human interactions. Know poker know people.
And emotion is always started by other people, then know poker know emotion.
Know also game theory. And you have to a 40% bad guy to survive in this world. Watch Chronicles of Riddick.

Mindfulness for many years is still the most effective stress buster.

The four philosophy:

Probably the most important system:
1. Break big task down into smaller ones. Do it with anything: difficult job, difficult people.
2. Schedule your fun time.
3. Pretend that the big task is easy or is a normal day to day activity

No shame because in this deterministic universe controlled by conditions arising, you have absolutely no choice in what you do. Intrinsically linked to Learned Optimism.

Research found out that people that are resilient believe these things:
1. The bad situation is not your fault.
2. The bad situation is temporary.
3. The bad situation only affect a

You have to control your material world first in order to be happy. There is no other way.

The world demand people that are good. To be good at anything you must put in 10,000 hours.

Refer back to old knowledge crystals for more information.

The 4 Practice

This practice brings you happiness and dominate the world.

1.Karate: Give a strong character to deal with any situation.

2.Mindfulness: Eliminate primitive automatic stress. So you withstand any situation. Must work together with philosophy.

3.Oracle: The biggest toy for life and can earn $$$ playing with it.

4.Poker: Contains the essence of human interaction and psychology. Know poker know people.

The 4 philosophy

1.Thick face black heart by Chin Nin Chu: How to get thick face. Mindfulness. Knowing that nothing is your fault. No shame.

2.Learned optimism by Martin Seligman: Nothing is your fault. The bad situation is only temporary. The bad situation will only influence a small part of your life.

3.Outliners: The story of Success by Malcolm Gladwell. Put in 10,000 hours to become the best. Practice, practice, practice. Learning Oracle is like learning ABC, just practice.

4.The Practicing Mind: Bringing Discipline and Focus Into Your Life by Thomas M. Sterner: Make something perfect and exploring is much happier than only earning for money (Oracle).

Important Misc

1.Tumo meditation: Don’t have to eat or sleep for a few month with this. Cure all disease.

2. Best poker book: Heads up no limit holdem by Collin Moshman.

Appendix:

Below is more explanation for the above.

Please read the emails in my treasure box when have time

-Today i had the most powerful insight, i use to think that accepting pain is necessary for stronger self. Not so, actually knowing the right technique to reduce pain is the correct way. WIth strong pain shield then only you can do jobs that comes with a lot of pain because you are buffered from the pain. Navy seals training use this also, they induce a lot of pain so you can find a way out into the mind to escape the pain. All my technique is to let you have a high pain threshold.
-One of the most important technique i know is from Learned Optimism book where the person knows that he is not at fault for the bad things that happened.Actually from even a strict philosophy and scientific viewpoint you are not at fault for anything you done or the environemtn or other people, because you could not help it, all is determined from you upbringing, genes, non free will, etc. THe only thing you can do is be "responsible" for what you will do AFTER the thing has happened, how to clean up the mess, live responsibly. But even if you make mistake after your responsible planning, it is still not your fault. Read the some brain neurogical book that shows that the concsioucness doesnt initiate any action only the subconscious. So dont feel guilty or shame for anything because there IS NO WAY you can help it. But take action to amend the situation after the fault. Then recycle step one and two.

-Learn how to ask questions in good forums on the internet. They can help a lot.

I discovered yoga nidra today 2am. Lets face it, the other chi kung, tai chi, mindfulness, meditation is nice, but in practicality, i never had the discipline to practice them. And static meditation is necessary because it is the effective way to stabilize the nervous system, the nervous system will misfire under stressful cirumstances. Thus yoga nidra is the best thing to come around because i can do sleeping on bed!

if i am not around to teach you life lessons, let this teach you:

1. Karate: Will make you confident and dominant. Needed for future environment disaster world.
2. Oracle: Become a guru. Work hard to be the best. And money will come to you. It is the biggest toy.
3. Yoga Nidra: Stabilize your nervous system for war. The most practical stress reliever.

4. Poker: THe essence of all human interaction. Thick face black heart inducer. Discover yourself. No limit holdem.
5. Philosophy: This is the essence of beautiful thinking.THe start of consciousness. Robert Scruton, Introducing series
6. Chess: Sicillian defense.

-The answer lies in the heart of batter. You become capable only by making mistakes, getting lost, getting your hands dirty
-Thick face black heart is the most important philosophy. Because without thick face this world would be too painful. Even if you do not go out and fight and hide, the world will get to you also actually more painful. How to acquire thick face: by being not ashamed, throw away your virtues and moralty, know that even in a strict philosophy sense you are responsible for nothing you do, all this is determined by genes, circumstances, social network, conditions arising, atoms, all beyond your control. know that this world is evil, which is true then you would not think the other person is right, actually all actions of a human being is selfish and evil in a sense. Play no limit poker and you will understand all of this.
-Ren, forbearance is actually tied to learned optimism knowing that the painful situation will only last for a short period.
-This world is a cruel world with lots of fighting, thus you need to recharge in order to fight better. calligraphy therapy is one of the way to do it. Look at my facebook to see that links to calligraphy therapy.
-It is importatn to activate your right brain. Studies has shown that scizophrenia is over active left brain without the right brain to coordinate the left hemisphere. Right brain is the integrator that makes sences of all the separate components. the left and right need cordination with each other
-pain that doesnt kill will only make your stronger. Is very true from my life experience.
-work hard play hard is also very true.
- be dispassionate about your defeat and passionate about your success. THis is like the hindu method of not caring about the fruits of your labour.
-oracle 10g performance tuning tips and techniques by richard niemiec is probably the best oracle book there is.
-know the beuty of poetry, philosophy,
-my other password is jinjinmoon82, gt

-I am trying to find the one principal that is the mother of all that i want to teach you. The principal is probably control. You must have control in order to survive at least with the mind. Find something to control, anything, karate, xbox, oracle, chess, poetry, or even knitting. All mindfulness and positive psychology is about control. Break the big task into smaller thing that you can control. Break the big day up. If you have nothing to control, at night before sleeping you can imagine that you are in control, this is good therapy. And also imagining probably will get what you want. Like I did with a red car and lots of money when i was in Tawau, then next year i was in Alstom earning lots of money with red Grand am. :P

OLD KNOWLEDGE CYRSTALS

The goal of life is excellence : Be the best in what you do. Put in 10,000 hours hard work. Everything is the same, oracle is same as chess same as poetry, all patterns. The more patterns you acquire , like the leaves on a big tree, the more life reward you with happiness. You have to focus on a area that provides maximum return with minimum risk, the best now I know is Oracle. If you dont put in your best, what would you do? Read Outliners by Malcom Gladwell.

Mindfulness & positive psychology: In life, there is a death wish and life wish. Death wish is the biological organizing system asking the failing organism to kill itself. Life wish is your desire for happiness. Positive psychology like religion and motivation increase the positive pull or life wish. Mindfulness reduces the negative pull. Both positive psychology and mindfulness are needed, but from my experience mindfulness is probably more effective and efficeint. You dont have to be mindful all the time like the gurus said, there is no god or nirvana to see, instead you only need to apply mindfulness when you are in pain. When there you have blocked/accept the pain, you can see the world is nirvana. Thick face black heart is a strong system (Read Thick face black heart by Chin Ning Chu) and mindfulness is the thick face. Theravada Buddhism is the experts of mindfulness. They offer free minduflness classes.

You have to be a bit bad guy: In this world , the truth people dont want to see is in fundamental the strong eats the weak, goodness only occurs when the strong has enough to eat. Only badness cant fight badness, in order for you fight badness you have to be a bit bad. All wars all strategy is utilizing the energy of badness. Without badness you cant defend yourslef and other people will eat you, even good people. So forget about Jesus, instead watch Chronicles of Riddick. Play poker and chess.

Oracle:

The best work and best toy. Check out books in freedrive.com,

(password deleted, ask your mom or aunty)

Read back previous treasure chests for how good oracle is.

Karate:

For character and coming global war.

Mindfulness:

It is the will and the prefrontal cortex. So you can be free. Read the emotional intelligence quick book by Travis Bradberry. Your mindfulness don’t have to be moment to moment. Just sometimes when you remember or suffering. You will feel like you wake from a dream every time.

The below I think is the best system I have assembled in my life. The 5 star system.

First bitter than sweet:

If i were to pass you only one knowledge this is the one. To be happy in this world, first requirement is to control you material world, forget about the BS spiritual gurus tell you, just check out their private life. To obtain control you must be good at a difficult job like Oracle so society will pay you high. To know how to do this difficult job, you must study hard, there is no other way around this, this requires hard work, and character, not techniques or shortcut. First you study hard take all the bitterness and sacrifice, then you can have a good life. Just look at the life difference of a Oracle administrator and a old waiter, the Oracle guy studies hard and didn't go out and play, the old waiter didn't study at all. I know all the methods in the world, this the only that works. Forget about the enlightenment no ego nivarna bs, it don’t work. Read The Road Less Traveled By Scott Peck.

Have to be good and bad:

You need hard work in this work to be successful. But much hard work will make you a nice guy and people will step on you and your life will be difficult. This is the balance of ying and yang. Discipline is yang, good. But too much yang is brittle, so you need ying to balance. Only evil can fight evil. There is a lot of lazy evil people in this world. You have to be 30% in order to have the proper balance with discipline. Just like right hand and left hand. Watch The Chronicles of Riddick to learn how to good and bad. It is very important to play some poker sometimes because it is the condense of life. Every attack other people does is actually 90% bluffing. By playing poker you will understand all the behavior of people.

It ain’t as hard as you think:

At first oracle is difficult but once at it for half year, like any subject, it becomes as easy as ABC. Remember how difficult for you to remember and understand your spelling? Now you can type and spell without thinking. Learning oracle or any subject is exactly like that, one day you will do oracle without even thinking.

Process orientation:

If you always look for result, and success, life will always a war and loses its beauty, this is the result of goal orientation. To balance discipline, you need to be process orientated. Make what you do perfect, enjoy what you do, don’t care about the result. Then quality and beauty can come back into life. All of the above i put articles into freedrive.com. Please read back previous treasure chest for more concept. The Practicing Mind: Bringing Discipline and Focus Into Your Life by Thomas M. Sterner.

Rocky Balboa System

The world aint all sunshine and rainbows Its a very mean and nasty place

and I dont care how tough you are It will beat you to your knees

and keep you permanently there if you it.

You me nobody is gonna hit as hard as life

But it aint about how hard you hit its about how hard you can get hit
and keep moving forward

how much you can take and keep moving forward
thats how winning is done

Now if you know what you're worth then go out and get what you're worth

but you gotta be willing to take the hits and not pointing fingers

saying you aint where you want to be

because of him her anybody

cowards do that and that aint you

you are better than that

The discipline toolkit

Break large things into smaller stuff, then you can conquer everything. THis is probably the basis of mindfulness. The essense of focus. You probably dont have to do mindfuleness only break things down to smaller management chunks. Small achieveble goals. Each time after you achieve a small goal give yourself a small reward, this will train your brain for discipline.

The R&D method

If you have problem, go and do research and development to find out how to solve your problem. The internet is a very good place. This is probaly the mother of all that i write in this letter. When there is a will there is a way.

Lieing is very important for survival - Ligita Reloaded

Actually every religion and self help system in this world is a lie, it doesnt reality, reality has no meaning. But the mind need to lies in order to survive in this world. WIhout lies as a buffer the mind directly exposed to reality will die. There is a accident where people are stranded on a small boat at sea without food or drink. After a few days after all the pain some people went crazy and swim in the water to look for their car and got eaten by sharks. The mind went crazy inorder to protect itself after seeing friends died and itself will die and so much pain. The one that survived are positive thinkers with a thinking thtat they will survive no matter what. This is a small lie because the real survival chance is little but it is a like a balm that applied little by little to protect the mind from overshattering. The people that survived was rescued by a boat. All positive thinking in this world, all mind therapy, all values, all philosophy, all religion, all spirituality is actually lies. But this lies is absolutely necessary for mind survival. The mind cannot survive if it can see reality absolutely, The Road less travelled by Scott Peck is only 50% correct. The people who can see reality correctly usually suffer from depression, negativism, cancer and giving up. But that doesnt mean that perceiving reality accuratly is not necessary, it is because you might make the wrong decison and die, or hurt people or yourself. So it 50% positive thinking, 50% perceiving reality correctly. The indian guru system of perceiving ttoal reality void only is imposisble and is only 30% of the equition. Look at the indian guru life, all scandals trying to fuck white women. One fast rule of thumb of positive thinking is 1. It is never your fault responsiblity(which is true philosophically) 2.The bad things will only last a while before good things come back. 3. The bad things only affect a small part of your life. Read the book Learned Optimism by Seligman. And Deep Survival by Laurence Gonzales.

Why Oracle is so good

-The future is controlled by computer science. You only need a pc to tweak all you want and to become a total guru, as opposed to engineering you need a lot of money and other people in order to mess around with the system. With a pc and knowledge you can start you own consulting firm easily.

-Data bases, game programming, security is like a big toy you can play for the rest of your life. Actually among all the toys I have played: chess, poker, philosophy, poetry, painting, quantum mechanics, fluid mechanics, CFD, go, karate, game programming, xbox, bridge etc, oracle is probably the best toy. It is totally elegant, inexhaustible and you earn $$$ while playing it. All the games and work I notice when you have played them all are actually quite the same, so go for the one that makes most money easily.

-Game programming doesn’t make as much money as oracle because you don’t have to read 20,000 pages manual like oracle, not that difficult, and a lot of people is doing it, that’s why game programmer gets paid much lower than Oracle DBA. But to get started with IT, maybe you need to learn game programming first.

-Oracle at the moment earns $3000-$8000 in Singapore, in US its about US$10,000/month, consultant is $75/hour. In the future I don’t know whether it will still earn as much but go for difficult things Sean Ryan it is the most fun.

-Your skill need to be a difficult to obtain skill and few people can supply it. The demand for your skill will go higher and you will earn more. Trust me true happiness cannot be obtain without material success. And once a guy ask me if you don’t work what would you do? Not working hard living a average life trust me will bring more misery than a hard working life full of achievement.

-To know Oracle you have to read at least 4 or 5 thick books. That is why so few people want to do oracle and you don’t have much competition (during the time of my writing)

-There is pure joy of achieving something as well as destroying something J

-I am planning to become a remote DBA, work at home, become a total expert at tuning and live in the forest with you guys.

-(new) Also Oracle is very easy for you to ackquire expert knowledge compare to the rest. Take my example, i wanted to become a physicist at 13. Grew up in Keningau the only books i can find in library is a chemical physics book which is all calculus. No internet. It is very difficult to find good physics books in ordinary book store, can only find it in University. Even if i manage to crack all the math and quantum mechanics books it is very difficult to come up with something new in theorotical physics, i can most likely become a low income teacher. Take engineering, very diffcult to find good books also outside, and no crack books in internet. Even if i become theory good, exteremely diffcult for me to get the equipment needed to build engineering stuff. Not so with oracle, just one computer is needed. THen you can hack free books on the net, because oracle unlike physics, engineering, has tons of pirot books on the net. Also it is very easy to get top notch experts books in the bookstore. STudy time is 1/20 of time needed for physics and engineering. If you dont have money to finish university course due to some misfortune, you can study oracle at home, get a OCA at a fraction of the cost and quickly get a high pay job compare to engineering courses. Short sharp achievable goal.

Best Oracle books :

-Oracle 10g database administration concept and implementation made simple by Asim Abbasi, --Head First SQL by Lynn Beighley. All in freedrive.com.

-Selftestsoftware is probably the most important tool to pass OCA. I will upload the docs questions to freedrive.com

-Sybex OCA study guide, see below. Expert Oracle Architecture, see below.

Misc:

-Sleep is the foundation of health. Vit B. Water. Chi Kung. Slow breathing to balance your CO2. I got a good U shape pillow now I have no more neck pain!

How to study Oracle books:

- You have to build meaning to everything you learn, that makes learning easy, that is how human’s learn by interconnecting things you understand. By gaining understanding, you don’t need painful memorizing.

-You need books that provide understand. The best book in oracle to provide understanding is Practical Oracle 8i by Jonathan Lewis. Available in Jurong East Library.

-Oracle OCA, OCP certification is very difficult to pass even if you memorized the books. Try to get real simulation exam questions, selftestsoftware is nice.

-There are very think oracle books to read, don’t read the books line by line word by word it is efficient, instead speed scan through the books and only read the paragraph that interest you, this is organic reading and is the most efficient. Get a lot of books from the library or rapidshare in internet, and skim through the books reading the parts that only interest you. As you understandings build to a level and you need to remember details for OCA certification then only you read line by line and making notes, but then reading word by word and memorizing would be easy because you have already understand a lot of Oracle.

-Gain understanding first, then you don’t have to rote memorize.

-(new) you probably dont need to make notes when studying oracle, just memorize after you totally understanding oracle after scanning a lot of books reading the parts you want to read.

How to study:

Bubul study method:

I study like this with the analogy of battlefield strategy:

1. Survey: Read lightly each chapter to know what the book is trying to achieve. If stuck just skip. This is the first reading.

2. Shoot aerrows: Start reading each chapter to fully understand concepts. BUT DONT MEMORIZE. This the second reading.

3. Meelee: This is the close bone to bone combat. Start taking short notes recording key words. This the third reading.

4. Memorize : From the notes. Keep understanding and memorizing separate.

Write down your puzzlement on note, find out answers later. Take mock exams. Memorize again. Recycle. Practice, practice, practice. You notice you get faster and faster.

SSMM :p

Please read study technique in freedrive.com also.

If you have a PDF book, just copy paste notes is damn fun and fast! See my notes on oracle in study technique folder in freedrive.com

-Look at all my picture in facebook login

-Lack of sleep is probably the main course of diabetes, obesity, cancer, depression and heart attack. Read Lights Out by TS Wiley.

-For very tough times, you have to remember that 1. It is not your fault 2. The bad times wont last 3. The bad times only affect a small area of your life. Read the No Asshole Rule by Robert Sutton.

-Sometimes slowing down your breathing rebalance the CO2 in your body and relieve stress.

-Chi kung can cure all disease. Put your hands together is a short fast chi kung.

-Best motivational movies: Rocky6: You gotta take the hits to win, Watchmen: Beautiful comes out of ugliness, Braveheart: you have only one life to do it, Kung Fu Panda: Believe in yourself

-Pleasure is not just food, and sex. It is also achievement, exploration, and destroy. Be a achievement junkie.

-In your world there will be 3 feet of sea level rise causing environemtnal disaster and wars. Water shortage. People will kill each other. It is important you learn ikarate in order to survive. And learn positive thinking in order to survive mentally. Also you might need to learn tumo meditation in order to go for months without eating. THere is a buddha boy in Tibet (now in 2009) who did this for years.

-Go into the mud, mix it up, get dirty. Accept suffering. Proably( i still need to verify this in contrast to positive thinking) accepting suffering will reduce the goals of the mind control system, and focus the mind, and allow mindfulness. The philosophy of not trying to be happy. Suffering give contrast to happiness like sharp lines in a drawing. Suffering add ocre, red, orange to life.

-Believe dont think

-Singing when doing boring work is a good cure. Singing when you are suffering is a good cure.

-Chess is one of the best games, better than go actually. In a deeper level Oracle is actually the same with chess. The best opening I like is Sicillian dragon (watch youtube to learn more), Benko defense and king pawn opening (bishop opening push F4 asap :)).

The Oracle books to study method:

1. Study Oracle 10g Database Administration Concepts & Implementation Made Simple (Paperback)by Asim Abbasi (Author)

Give you a intutive understanding of oracle.

2. Study OCA: Oracle 10g Administration I Study Guide (1Z0-042) by Chip Dawes (Author), Bob Bryla (Author), Joseph C. Johnson (Author), Matthew Weishan (Author)

This is the most complete guide to OCA exam.

3. Selftestsoftware: IS THE MOST IMPORTANT one to study and IS A MUST for OCA. Without selftestsoftware you dont have a framework to filter Oracle large amount of material.

4. Study Expert Oracle Database Architecture - 9i and 10g Programming Techniques and Solutions (Paperback)

by (Author

This is the book to understand oracle. Because no understanding is very difficult to pass OCA. THough at expert level but the writing is lucid and simple. Best Oracle book i have read.

THe rest of the books mentioned below are not so good, either not enough info or too complicated for OCA.

Oracle press OCP study guide: Too long winded. Not enough info, doest even describe extent management. Essential oracle: doesnt even discuss extent management. The tuning books too complicated for beginners.

OCA exam is very hard

How was my CMDBA exam last Jan 29?

I missed 4% to pass. And it was the hardest exam i have ever taken in my life. My face was flushed during the exam.

How was the CMDBA exam?
Well it is just like what these people who took OCA/P in amazon said:

http://www.amazon.com/OCP-Oracle-Administration-Study-1Z0-043/review/product/0782143687/ref=cm_cr_dp_synop?ie=UTF8&showViewpoints=0&sortBy=bySubmissionDateDescending#RLMQDUCJT4S1

By Forensic Team "AngelMar.com" (California) - See all my reviews
I studied this book from cover to cover with my eyes close (3 months 2-3 hours a day). I just failed the exam and I scored 60% out of 70% passing. Although the book covers all the materials you have to know, it does not cover in detail on each section to pass. The test questions are totally unrelated to the practice exam of this book. Almost all the questions are scenario questions. I suggest that you need additional references beside this book.

Furthermore, this book is hard to understand. I have re-read so many times. The wording is poor. There are about 20% mistakes on the practice exam questions of this book. The reason I did not add additional references is that if you study the book from cover to cover, there is no doubt you passthe exam---I WAS WRONG.

WARNING: The OCP exam had 2-4 long sentences each question with a multiple choice from A-F (2-3 answers). That's how it makes it hard. You have to think very very very deep and NOT ENOUGH TIME.

Not enough to pass the test, December 5, 2006
By Blaine T. Jones "seismo" (Dahlonega, GA USA) - See all my reviews

This book is jam-packed with info that the Oracle 10g DBA will need to know...unfortunately, its not enough to pass the exam. The book isn't necessarily at fault - the exam is full of so many trick questions and obscure references that cooincidentally are all spelled out in Oracle's training material (which you'll need to shell out three thousand dollars to attend the class and get the books).
In order to get OCP certified, you have to attend an Oracle class anyway, so skip this book and get the training from the source.

I used this book to study for the OCA test for a month and thought I would pass with my SQL & limited Oracle experience. I did not pass the test because the test has changed to Senario Driven with Multiple Choice & Multiple answers. You would receive a long paragraph about a user's needs. You would need to select two answers out of five; 1 would be easy to pick, 2 would seem wrong and 2 would seem almost identical and right. That is where the test has gotten harder.

Where this book gives you the foundation of all the "What's" involved, the test needs the "Whys".

I recommend SELFTEST software Oracle pushes on thier site. I find the questions and style are very similar to what I had experienced.

I still recommend this book if would like to understand the concepts and have an oracle DB at your disposal
If you then need or want the cert buy the selftest software because I'm positive half of my questions came from that product. By spending your money on both of those products you will still make out very well because the Live course for this subject is around $2,500.

My experience with Oracle has been from the Healthcare IT environment where the database is already set up and just needs tuneing and Reports. If you are an Oracle Finanicials person you may only need the SelfTest software to practice from.

I cleared my OCA exam with help of sybex and selftest software..could get 73/75 . I would recommend to go for selftest(65% of questions came from selftest in the actual exam) along with sybex..just reading sybex might not be of much help.

This book does not cover topics well enough to pass the exam. It might be useful as an addition to other materials or as a review for experienced DBAs, but it does NOT have the information you need to pass by itself.

After failing the OCA exam (after acing the books' 2 exams, thanks guys!) I smashed this book against a brick wall until it was nothing but torn pages fluttering in the breeze. The binding held up well through the first several smashings, and stomping the separated pieces produced an enjoyable tearing sound.

Put in 10,000 hours to be the best

The secret of your success? 10,000 hours

Melanie McDonagh
19.11.08

There's one figure that everyone takes away from Malcolm Gladwell's new book, Outliers: 10,000 hours. That, he says, is the difference between success and non-success, genius and mediocrity. Anyone from the to who has succeeded has done so on the back of at least 10,000 hours of practice. Plus, obviously, some intelligence and talent. This is an extension of his last book, Blink, in which he praised the power of intuitive snap judgments - but you need to have experience to make those judgments.

Like all the books in this peculiarly American genre, it expands a one- sentence conclusion into a book, and few of us are in a position to dispute the statistical basis. It will give heart to nature's plodders, to the tortoises over the hares. The relationship between success and IQ works, says Mr Gladwell, only up to the point of reasonable intelligence - any more is a waste.

Outliers, like most pop social science, has some obvious truth. In fact, the essence of the argument was made in 1859 by Samuel Smiles in his immortal book, Self-Help. "Strenuous individual application," he declared, with plentiful examples, "is the price paid for distinction; excellence of any sort is placed beyond the reach of indolence."

It is, in fact, very difficult to think of any markedly successful individual who has succeeded without practice - though attributes such as low cunning, ruthlessness and consuming self-regard also help. It's too easy to assume that geniuses are simply lucky and terribly clever. As Alexander Fleming remarked of his penicillin bacillus: "It didn't just stand up and say, 'I produce penicillin', you know." It was all that advance preparation with the Petri dishes.

Alexander Pope came nearest to a declaration of effortless genius with "I lisped in numbers and the numbers came", but his output was very considerable. was a natural humorist but a certain preparatory effort went into the gags. One of the best linguists I know is the distinguished political philosopher Noel Malcolm, who knows 20 languages. He dismisses the natural genius approach: "It's blood, sweat and tears," he once told me chirpily.

Even supermodels don't get by on the strength of 's cheekbones: have you ever seen them pose? Again and again. On the celebrity circuit, the correlation between effort and success - as opposed, say, to raw talent - is the only explanation for Madonna.

In fact, if you cut out the provocative figure of 10,000 hours you can sum up Outliers with Thomas Edison's familiar maxim that genius is one per cent inspiration and 99 per cent perspiration. Expanding t

Other secrets havent got time to organise it yet

I will update the knowledge crystal attached with the new knowledge below:

-In order to live in the new tomorrow you must have a bit of cruelty or else you cannot survive.

-Sometimes you have to think of yourself as a invader, a aggressor, or else you will be bullied by people. In this world there are three types of people: Warriors, Farmers, and Nomads. We are Nomad people who dont want to fight or invade people or bother with too much politics. We need a bit of warrior and farmer to balance our personality.

-Pretend the thing is easy and you will be more capable at handling the thing.

-Learning is all about acquiring more meaning. Meaning is about linking different things together. Thus the oracle study method is all about getting meaning, linking different things like going forward going backward if you dont understand some material, read other oracle books, beginner books actually have more meaning because they spend more time explaining simple stuff which is equivalent to putting more meaning into fundamental stuff. Getting knowledge, learning life, have power is all about linking different things together acquiring meaning.

-Mindfulness is still the strongest life coping technique. You have a animal brain giving you alert whenever there is danger. However in modern life frequently the danger alarms need to be ignored for the larger strategy. Mindfulness is giving your mind a big screen or perspective so the alarm signal appears small and wont dominate you giving stress. Mindfulness is propably more powerful than positive thinking.

-All i have been teaching can actually be summed up in the book Deep Survival by Laurence Gonzales:

1. Perceive, believe (look, see, believe)

Stay calm (use humor, use fear to focus)

Think/analyze/plan (get organized; set up small, manageable tasks) *break thing

Take correct, decisive action (be bold and cautious while carrying out tasks)

Celebrate your successes (take joy in completing tasks)

Count your blessings (be grateful--you're alive)

Play (sing, play mind games, recite poetry, count anything, do mathematical problems in your head)

See the beauty (remember: it's a vision quest)

Believe that you will succeed (develop a deep conviction that you'll live)

Surrender (let go of your fear of dying: "put away the pain") *my accept suffering

Do whatever is necessary (be determined; have the will and the skill)

2. Never give up (let nothing break your spirit)

The other very good book is learned optimism by Seligman.

-It is very important to have a thick skin but equally more important to fight back so people dont bully. Develop a thick skin by being a little bad. I have all my life been thin skin. Thick skin is like a filter, it filter all the noise so you can concentrate on what is most important. Attacking people back is also a good strategy, but you also must be a little bad.

-The most important power is thick face black heart. There is a lot of chinese books on this strategy. Watch chronicals of riddick. There is also a english book on this.

-Handling oracle is just like being a mechanic. I will call my software company Oracle mechanics.

-ride the wave of life. The wave is bigger than you, but you can enjoy the wave by surfing it. The bigger the wave the bigger the joy, use the wave.

- Sometimes you have to the build a non material world. This world doesnt work on material rules like an eye for an eye, this world doesnt exist in the material biological world, it exist in the spiritual world. but we need it to survive, it is a equally valid world. This two world must coexist together, the non material world cannot survivie on its own, it can be used to interface the material world. Your mind can only survive in the non material world, and you also need the non material world to survive in this harsh material world. You need meaning.
